The Boys Season 5 to Feature Major Supernatural Reunion with Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins

Season 5 of The Boys is set to deliver a thrilling Supernatural reunion, as Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins are confirmed to make special guest appearances in the final season of the popular Prime Video superhero drama, produced by showrunner Eric Kripke.

The exciting news was revealed via a video posted on the official social media accounts of The Boys, featuring Jensen Ackles, along with his former Supernatural co-stars Padalecki and Collins, hinting that they have some work to do together. The video is a fun reference to their Supernatural roots. As fans are already aware, Ackles is returning as a series regular in Season 5 after first appearing as Soldier Boy in Season 3.

The video, which featured all three stars, was captioned with the message: "Season 5 just got a bit more supernatural," further teasing their shared history on Supernatural.

The specific characters that Padalecki and Collins will portray remain under wraps, updates are expected as more details are revealed. It was previously hinted that Padalecki would appear, but Collins' involvement marks the return of the main trio from Supernatural for a highly anticipated reunion.

In a June 2024 interview with TV Insider, Kripke expressed his excitement about having Padalecki on board: "I definitely want to get Jared in there. I feel like that would be one I would love to do. Like I’ve said, I’m completing my game of Supernatural Pokémon. But the truth is, I just like working with people that I like, and Supernatural just happens to be chock-full of people who have remained dear friends of mine."

Supernatural ran for 15 seasons from 2005 to 2020, with Ackles and Padalecki playing brothers Dean and Sam Winchester, and Collins portraying the angel Castiel. Other Supernatural veterans who have appeared in The Boys universe, including Gen V, are Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jim Beaver, Alex Calvert, and Rob Benedict. The premiere date for The Boys Season 5 is yet to be announced, but filming is currently underway in Toronto.
