Zendaya Joins Shrek 5 as Felicia: What to Expect from the Upcoming Ogre Adventure

Zendaya has a new, exciting role on the horizon—Felicia, the ogre daughter of Shrek and Fiona, in Shrek 5. This announcement follows her iconic roles as Meechee and Chani, completing a unique prophecy of sorts in her career. The confirmation comes via the film’s first teaser trailer, adding another layer to Zendaya’s impressive resume.

The teaser may be brief, but it reveals some significant details. First, it shows that Shrek memes—one of the most enduring parts of the franchise—are now officially part of the Shrek universe. Second, the character designs remain mostly faithful to the look established in Shrek Forever After, with subtle changes, rather than a dramatic overhaul like in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Finally, the story picks up several years after the events of the previous film, with Shrek and Fiona's children, first seen in Shrek the Third, now much older. Fans will recall that the couple had three ogre babies, so Zendaya’s role as Felicia hints that we might see Fergus and Farkle appear as well.

The long-anticipated return of Shrek was set up during the post-credits scene of the Puss in Boots sequel, and now, Shrek 5 is bringing back the beloved trio of Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy. As the film approaches its scheduled Christmas 2026 release, fans can look forward to learning more about which other big names will join the cast and what new fairytale adventures await Shrek and his family. The wait won't be long!
